New Executive Director on the Northside: Northside Planning Council hires Northsider Cindy Crane
The Northside Planning Council has hired a new Executive Director to lead the organization that was formed in 1993 to help the Northside
of Madison. Cindy Crane joins NPC on May 9 and will work with the NPC Board and NPC/Northside News staff to carry on current projects. Ms. Crane lives on the Northside and worked for the Northside Eastside Senior Coalition in the past. She is fluent in Spanish and has lived in Asia and Latin America.
“I am thrilled that we found someone of Cindy’s caliber right in our own backyard,” said long-time Board Member and Interim Board Chair Terrie Anderson. “Cindy will be able to hit the ground running on Northside issues and take a lead position in getting the Food Enterprise and Economic Development Kitchens funded and built.”
Ms. Crane comes to the new position with several years of non-profit management experience which included fund raising, grant writing, event organizing. She helped her last organization add financial stability and capacity that lead to the hiring of additional staff. She has networking and community building skills and has worked closely with schools, businesses, and community leaders to help move an organization forward.
In Ms. Crane, the Northside has found a leader with a diverse set of skills to help enhance our sense of community, connect with people in all of our neighborhoods, and to continue to attract and grow business investment on the Northside.
